Process:  Lapel pins manufactured using the Photo Etched process are the perfect choice when your logo or design has a lot detail. Almost anything you take a picture of can be transformed into a photo etched lapel pin.  First, an image of your design is transferred from your photographic negative onto the surface of the metal. Your design is then etched into the brass lapel pin base using an acid-reaction process. Your lapel pins are then filled with the enamel colors.  The Colors are overlaid by hand, one at a time, using different sized syringes. The lapel pins are then fired at 450°F for 12 to 15 minutes in order to "bake" the color onto your photo etched lapel pins. After the firing, the lapel pins are individually hand-polished. You may choose to have an epoxy covering added to the pins, at no additional charge. This process will add a glossy shine and protect the colors from fading or cracking
